Lucas Hernandez Appears To Back Down From Heated Altercation After Realising Erling Haaland Brought Him Down

Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland stood there in his Terminator-esque pose when Bayern Munich's Lucas Hernandez extended his hand.

A furious Lucas Hernandez made a hilarious U-turn on a potentially heated altercation after realising it was Erling Haaland who brought him down in a challenge.

Bayern Munich claimed the ultimate bragging rights over German rivals Borussia Dortmund on Saturday with a 3-2 win at the Westfalenstadion.

During the second half of the lively Der Klassiker encounter, Hernandez found himself under immense pressure from Haaland inside his own half.

The 25-year-old Bayern defender was brought down near the corner flag and did not appear happy with the challenge.

However, Hernandez turned his head while down and immediately put his hand out when he was back on his feet after he realised it was Haaland towering over him.

Haaland, who stood there in a Terminator-esque pose, eventually reached out and embraced Hernandez before the pair went their separate ways.

Kingsley Coman scored before half-time to put Bayern 2-1, but Haaland scored minutes into the second half to hand Dortmund a fighting chance.

However, Lewandowski ensured that Bayern secured all three crucial points at the Westfalenstadion after beating Gregor Kobel from the spot-kick.

The latest Der Klassiker was marred with controversy after Dortmund saw two penalty claims dismissed.

Dortmund manager Marco Rose was also sent off after picking up a second booking for dissent.

Referee Felix Zwayer refused to review both of Dortmund’s penalty appeals, which included Marco Reus going down inside the box after a battle with Hernandez.

Haaland was not a happy man at the full-time whistle and claimed in his post-match interview that the refereeing was a “scandal.”

Speaking to Viaplay, the 21-year-old Dortmund striker said: “I think it was a scandal when it comes to the referee.

“I asked him [Zwayer], ‘Why didn't you just go and look?’ He said: ‘No, there is no need.’

“I need to calm down a little bit now. He was arrogant, and I will not say more.”

Bayern’s 3-2 win moves them four points clear of Dortmund at the top of the Bundesliga.
