Manchester City to stop selling first-team players to Premier League club

Manchester City to stop selling first-team players to Premier League club

They've clearly helped the Gunners this season.

Manchester City are reportedly no longer willing to do business with other Premier League clubs, especially Arsenal.

The current champions sold both Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko to the Gunners in the summer and Mikel Arteta's men.

Jesus signed for £45million and Zinchenko cost £32million but both had a great impact on Arsenal's season.

According to Football Insider, City have made the decision to sell no more "first team stars" to Arsenal.

This comes after the Gunners lead City in the league table by five points.

Why City would sell to a rival is a question that is being asked at the club but it now seems Pep Guardiola will reject any further offers from Arsenal for players who would 'go straight into their team'.

Arteta: Those individuals make a difference

Arteta spoke about Jesus' impact and what he brings to the side earlier in the season: "Those individual actions make a difference in football and Gabi is doing that week in, week out."

The Arsenal boss also explained Zinchenko's role in the side: "We encourage him [to move into midfield] and he’s a midfield player playing as a fullback, it gives us the adaptability and the variety of positions to attack and defend spaces. It’s an extra weapon to have because we are more unpredictable."

In previous years gone by, the two teams have done lots of business together.

Samir Nasri, Gael Clihy, Bacary Sagna, Kolo Toure, and Emmanuel Adebayor all left London for City when the new owners took charge of the Manchester club.

City and Arsenal are yet to face each other in the league as their clash was postponed due to the Queen's death.
