Erling Haaland could have been playing for Manchester United instead of Manchester City after the Red Devils were offered the chance to snap up the striker.
The 22-year-old Norway superstar joined City from Borussia Dortmund last summer in a deal worth a reported £51.2 million.
Since then, he has gone on to break records left, right and centre. To date, he has scored a staggering 35 goals in the Premier League and 51 goals across all competitions.

However, Haaland could have been playing for City’s bitter rivals United.
According to The Sun, Old Trafford legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer offered United the chance to sign Haaland but the club refused.
Solskjaer was the Molde manager when Haaland was coming through the ranks and revealed that he told United to sign him back in 2018.

He said: “I called United about six months before I took over and told them that I’d got this striker that we had but they didn’t listen.
"I asked for £4 million for Haaland but they didn’t sign him.”
Haaland ended up joining Austrian side RB Salzburg before moving to German Bundesliga outfit Dortmund.

In what has been a stunning first season in the Premier League, Haaland is looking to fire Pep Guardiola’s side to their third consecutive title.
Currently, the Blues are one point ahead of Arsenal with a game in hand.
Ahead of their match against Everton on Sunday, Guardiola said: “They have the history and the quality of team to not be in this position. The way they play is special, we have to adapt as quickly as possible
“There are four games left in the Premier League and it is really important for us to be there, to keep our destiny – or what you play for – in our hands and we have to prepare as best as possible.

“When we play for all competitions, you have to switch and adapt.”
