Everything you need to know about Man City vs Nottingham Forest

Manchester City host Nottingham Forest at the Etihad Stadium tonight off the back of their 4-2 comeback win over Crystal Palace at the weekend.

The Citizens found themselves two goals down to Patrick Vieira’s men on Saturday afternoon, but a goal from Bernardo Silva and an Erling Haaland hat-trick turned the game around as they responded to the previous weekend’s disappointing draw with Newcastle.

The result leaves Pep Guardiola’s side two points off of league leaders Arsenal going into matchday five.

Haaland’s opening goal against the Eagles was his first at the Etihad in a blue shirt, and he’ll be looking to build on this as City entertain newly promoted Forest tonight.

Steve Cooper’s men travel to the North West off the back of a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Tottenham on Sunday afternoon. Despite competing for large parts of the encounter with the North London side, Spurs’ quality ultimately trumped Forest’s hard work and endeavour.

The Reds find themselves two points above the relegation zone, having accumulated four points from four games, at this early stage.

Here’s everything you need to know about Manchester City vs Nottingham Forest.

Nathan Ake missed out against Palace due to a groin issue, but is expected to recover in time for this game and replace John Stone in the starting eleven and partner Ruben Dias.

Aside from Laporte and possibly Grealish and Phillips, Guardiola has the entirety of his deep squad to pick from.

New signing Renan Lodi arrived on Sunday afternoon from Atletico Madrid, and is expected to be involved tonight, but possibly only from the bench. Orel Mangala could be available after missing the Spurs game.

Moussa Niakhate and Omar Richards remain unavailable for selection due to minor injuries, but they are the only two senior players that aren’t in contention for this fixture for Steve Cooper.

Remo Freuler could be in line for his first Forest start in the middle of the park after impressing off the bench on the weekend.
