The list of Manchester United players with the most minutes has been released

Manchester United fans can’t believe how many players have played more minutes than Anthony Martial this season.

Ever since Martial joined United from Monaco in 2015 for £36 million, the Frenchman has struggled to win over fans and nail down a regular starting spot.

Martial spent the second half of last season on loan at Spanish La Liga side Sevilla but again failed to make a good impression.

This season, the 27-year-old has made nine appearances, scoring three times and assisting two.

However, his season has been ruined by injuries and he is currently nursing a hip injury.

Many United fans have been left baffled after the list of players with the most minutes was revealed.

Martial has played a total of 749 minutes over the course of the 22/23 season.

United fans were shocked to find out that January signing Wout Weghorst has played more minutes(813) than Martial despite only being at the club for one month.

One fan said: “I cannot, for the love of god, believe that Weghorst has played more minutes than Martial this season.”

Another added: “His return on those minutes is fairly insane… which only makes it even more tragic.”

A third fan commented: “That in a nutshell summarises Martial’s career at Man United.”

Some United fans also pointed out that both Jadon Sancho, who has missed the last few months and Cristiano Ronaldo, who left in November have more minutes than Martial.

Another United fan tweeted: “Sancho has more minutes he didn’t play a game for 3 months.”

Someone else wrote: “Even Ronaldo!”

The player who has played the most minutes for United this season is Portugal midfielder Bruno Fernandes, who has amassed 3358 minutes. Staggeringly, that is even more than goalkeeper David de Gea, who has played 3285 minutes.

Highflying Marcus Rashford makes up the top three after clocking a grand total of 2868 minutes.

United are gearing up for their Europa League playoff second leg against Barcelona before the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United at Wembley on Sunday.
