Man United Fan Has Placed A £100 Bet On Liverpool Winning The Quadruple

Man United Fan Has Placed A £100 Bet On Liverpool Winning The Quadruple

The Man United fan has backed Liverpool to win FOUR trophies this season.

A MANCHESTER UNITED has placed a £100 bet on LIVERPOOL winning the quadruple this season, with the punter in line to pocket to a massive return if it happens.

Phil Worthington, 72, could earn £100,000 having bet £100 on Liverpool bagging FOUR trophies.

He put the bet on when the Reds were priced at 1000/1.

The retired electrician backed his bitter rivals to win the Premier League, Carabao Cup, FA Cup and Champions League.

He also bet £170 on three other Liverpool trophy-win combinations that could win £6,500.

Phil, of Manchester, told The Sun: "I shouldn’t really want Liverpool to win but these bets are very close to coming in.

"If they win six games and City drop a point, I’m quids in.

"I should probably spend the money on flights to see my daughters in Australia and I’ll treat myself to a new car."

Liverpool remain in the title race despite dropping points at home to Tottenham last weekend.

They also have two cup finals this month (FA Cup and Champions League) having already secured the Carabao Cup earlier this year.

Klopp's team face Chelsea in the FA Cup final on Saturday, then Real Madrid in the Champions League final on May 28.

As for Premier League glory, Liverpool are three points adrift of Man City in the table - with just three league fixtures remaining of the season.

Speaking after Liverpool's draw against Spurs, the German boss played down his side's chances of winning the quadruple.

"I’m not happy, but not as sad as the players are right now and it is my job to explain why something happens like this," he said.

"Harry Kane and Heung-min Son were completely rested, that is why it is so hard.

"That is why the quadruple is so unlikely, there is a reason nobody has done it in this country. We will keep going.

"I would love to sit here and say City will drop points but I can’t see it.

"I wish I would think differently about it but I can’t see it. But we will see what happens."
