Man United vs Brighton referee: who are the officials for the Premier League game today?

Man United vs Brighton referee: who are the officials for the Premier League game today?

Paul Tierney will referee Man United vs Brighton

Brighton face Manchester United at Old Trafford this afternoon in what will be both team’s first game in the new Premier League season.

Erik Ten Hag will certainly be hoping to get off to a good start as United manager and improve on their disappointing 6th place finish last campaign.

Despite a lacklustre season, the Red Devils have not been as active in the transfer market as fans would have hoped, with only Christian Eriksen, Tyrell Malacia and big money signing Lisandro Martinez being added to their squad so far.

The Seagulls had their best ever finish in the Premier League last year and will be hoping for a similarly successful season.

They also ended their pre-season campaign on a high, thrashing La Liga side Espanyol 5-1.

In Friday’s press conference Ten Hag revealed that Martial will miss the match after he picked up a Hamstring injury.

This opens up the door for Ronaldo to start, however due to speculation around his future and a lack of minutes in pre-season, it is likely Rashford and Elanga will line up in attack.

There could also be debuts for Martinez and Malacia in defence.

Brighton fans will be happy to hear that they have a fully fit squad, apart from Jakub Moder who is absent with a long-term knee injury. The recent departure of Cucurella could open the door for Solly March to start at left-wing back.
