Manchester United return to competitive action on Wednesday.

Manchester United face Burnley in their Carabao Cup round of 16 match at Old Trafford on Wednesday.

It is United's first competitive match since the domestic season was put on hold for the World Cup in Qatar.

Erik ten Hag's side booked their place in the last 16 with a 4-2 win over Aston Villa in the third round.

Championship side Burnley, who are managed by former Manchester City defender Vincent Kompany, beat Crawley Town 3-1 to set up the tie against United.

It will be United's last match before they return to Premier League action against Nottingham Forest on December 27, which will be shown live on Amazon Prime Sport.

Man Utd vs Burnley: What is the kick-off time?

As previously mentioned, the match will take place at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

It will kick-off at 8pm (GMT), with two other matches - Blackburn Rovers vs Nottingham Forest and Charlton vs Brighton - kicking-off slightly earlier at 7.45pm (GMT).

Which TV channel is it on?

Manchester United vs Burnley will be shown live on Sky Sports Football and Sky Sports Main Event from 7.30pm (GMT).

You can also live stream the action from the NOW TV and Sky Go app, both of which are available for download onto your mobile or tablet device.

Man Utd and Burnley team news

United will be without several players for the match against Burnley.

Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez are unavailable because of their involvement in Sunday's World Cup final between Argentina and France.

Victor Lindelof is expected to start alongside Harry Maguire at centre-back for the home side.

United are also expected to be without Jadon Sancho, who is currently training away from the squad.

The England international missed United's winter training camp in Spain after being given individual instructions by Ten Hag amid concerns over his fitness.

Diogo Dalot is also a doubt with a hamstring injury sustained while on international duty with Portugal at the World Cup.

Burnley, meanwhile, could be without Scott Twine after he picked up a knock in Saturday's 3-1 win over Middlesbrough in the Championship.

Connor Roberts was sent off in the win for a handball but is available to face United after his suspension was overturned following an appeal from Burnley.
