Man Utd boss Ten Hag is ready to unleash "remarkable" talent against Crystal Palace

Man Utd boss Ten Hag is ready to unleash "remarkable" talent against Crystal Palace

It would be a massive boost for Erik ten Hag.

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag could unleash new signing Marcel Sabitzer against Crystal Palace.

Man Utd will be bidding to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they take on Palace at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Ten Hag’s side suffered a bruising 3-2 loss to Arsenal in their last Premier League outing and currently sit fourth in the table, just three points ahead of Tottenham Hotspur in fifth.

However, Man Utd have won three times since their defeat to the Gunners, to advance to the fifth round of the FA Cup and reach the final of the Carabao Cup.

Meanwhile, Palace are out of both domestic competitions and are yet to have won a game in 2023. However, Patrick Vieira’s side have picked up two draws in their last two outings, one of which was against Man Utd at Selhurst Park.

Yet while the Eagles will be without talisman Wilfried Zaha for the Old Trafford encounter, Ten Hag could field Deadline Day addition Sabitzer.

Sabitzer to feature against Palace?

Ten Hag confirmed Sabitzer, who was signed on loan from Bayern Munich, will be in the matchday squad on Saturday.

The 28-year-old, who was once described as a "remarkable" player by former Reds boss Ralf Rangnick, completed his whirlwind move on Tuesday evening.

And the Austrian international’s involvement on Saturday will come as a huge boost to Man Utd given the absence of Scott McTominay, Donny van de Beek and Christian Eriksen.

When asked how Sabitzer had settled into life at Old Trafford the United boss said, via the Man Utd website: "Very good.

“Of course, he did only one session but you can see he's a very fit player. I didn't have a different expectation.

“He's coming from Bayern Munich. German [clubs] they are always [about] fitness, [it's] always good. So, he is [fit]. So, I think he is ready to play.

"I think he's a really smart player. I think we gave him some guidance but I think he knows what to do, he knows the job, so he could do [start]."
