Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has been told he would be making a mistake in offering Marcus Rashford a mega-money contract to stay at Old Trafford.
According to The Sun, United are planning to present Rashford with a £375,000-per-week proposal to stay at Old Trafford.
It is claimed that the 25-year-old's wage would almost double from his current £200,000-per-week package - and that the move will be funded by any David de Gea contract extension, with the club keen for the goalkeeper to commit to reduced terms.

Rashford previously described a report claiming he had asked for £500,000-per-week as 'complete nonsense', with any such figure making him the highest-paid player in United's history.
The new claims, therefore, may need to be taken with a small pinch of salt - but what is clear is that United need to extend the contract of one of their star players before it expires next summer.
Rashford becoming the club's top earner would not be a surprise either, having scored 30 goals in all competitions in the most recent season.

But Ten Hag has surprisingly been warned against offering the 25-year-old such a big contract despite his impressive goalscoring return.

Speaking on talkSPORT, former Chelsea, Marseille and Republic of Ireland striker Tony Cascarino believes that Rashford needs to replicate his form from this season and consistently hit 20 Premier League goals before he can be made the club's top earner.
He explained: "Look, he's a very talented lad. He went through a number of injuries and had problems off the pitch which he seems to have resolved but now he's set the standard of what he's capable of.

"If you go three or four years down the line and we're talking about Marcus Rashford, do we expect him to get near the 200 club [goals in the Premier League]? At the moment he's got 128 goals [for United] and 76 Premier League goals.
"Can he get to 150 Premier League goals in the next three or four years? I'm not sure he's capable of it.
"I haven't seen enough evidence. He hasn't achieved 20 [goals] once in the Premier League."
Cascarino added: "Rashford had a fantastic season this year. The season that's just finished, 30 goals and 17 Premier League goals.

"But do you think you'd want to pay £375,000-a-week for someone who has had their best season at 25 years old and played very well and looks like a different player this year?
"He looks way more clinical than he has done, but I still am not totally convinced about Marcus's ability to lead the line at United for the next two or three years."
Although Rashford didn't reach 20 goals last season, he did score 17 to become United's top goalscorer. Without his goals, Ten Hag's side would have faced a much greater struggle to finish in the Champions League qualification places.
