Paul Pogba could have his Juventus contract terminated, less than a year after moving to the club from Manchester United, according to a fresh report.

Pogba has been blighted by injury issues since ending a topsy-turvy six-year spell at Old Trafford last summer to move to Juventus.

The France international only returned to action for La Vecchia Signora in February after suffering a severe knee injury last summer.

And on Sunday, Pogba was once again sidelined for Juventus’ 4-2 victory over Sampdoria with an abductor issue, that will also keep him out of upcoming games against Freiburg and Inter.

Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri told DAZN via Goal: "My idea today was to give [Adrien] Rabiot 60 minutes and Pogba 30, but then he got injured.

"This morning Pogba was taking free kicks and felt a twinge in his adductor."

Since rejoining Juventus, Pogba has missed some 33 matches through injury, which amounts to 89 per cent of the club’s games.

His injury record, coupled with the news of alleged disciplinary issues off the pitch, has led to speculation the 29-year-old could see his Juventus contract terminated.

A new Gazzetta dello Sport report (via the Mirror) has claimed the Juventus hierarchy are less than enthused about how Pogba’s return has played out, and they are considering several options ahead of the summer.

According to the publication, Juventus’ first option is to renegotiate the Frenchman’s deal with a view to him taking a pay cut as an “act of responsibility” after a poor season.

Another option would reportedly be for the club to keep things as they are in the hope Pogba’s fortunes improve next season.

The third option, according to the Italian outlet, would be to secure an agreement to rip up the four-year deal Pogba signed back in July.

Despite Gazzetta dello Sport’s claim, in February, before Pogba’s latest injury setback, Juventus’ chief operating officer Francesco Calvo denied that there are any plans to terminate the player’s contract.

"We are not planning to terminate Pogba's contract, I can deny these stories," Calvo said, via TSN.

"He's an important player for us. The injuries are part of the game, but Paul is training well and we wait for him."
