Going into the World Cup break Erik ten Hag’s resurgent side sit in fifth in the Premier League, just three points from the Champions League spots.

With a number of players, including Diogo Dalot and Marcus Rashford, out of contract next summer and wantaway forward Cristiano Ronaldo almost certain to leave in January, Man Utd will be looking to bring in new bodies in the next two windows.

Here are all the players Man Utd have been linked with, competing at the World Cup in Qatar.

Enzo Fernandez – Argentina

21-year-old Enzo Fernandez, who plays his club football at Benfica, is thought to be attracting interest across Europe, including from Man Utd.

The Argentine has enjoyed a stellar season with the high-flying Portugal giants, while his Champions League performances at the heart of Benfica’s midfield have helped his side emerge from their group.

Youri Tielemans – Belgium

The midfielder has been in electric form in recent weeks for a rejuvenated Leicester side.

While Man Utd have registered an interest in Youri Tielemans, who is out of contract next summer, Arsenal are believed to be the favourite to secure the Belgian's signature.

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting – Cameroon

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting’s CV, which includes both Paris Saint-Germain and Stoke City, has long been a source of bemusement and ridicule.

However, the 33-year-old has been linked with Man Utd in recent weeks on the back of his electric Bayern Munich form. He has scored 11 goals and registered three assists in 12 games since the start of October!

Jonathan David – Canada

Man Utd were one of the sides reported as interested in the Canadian over the summer window as ten Hag looked to improve his attacking options.

Jonathan David has been tipped as a potential replacement for Ronaldo in January.

Josko Gvardiol - Croatia

RB Leipzig's Josko Gvardiol was of interest to Spurs and Chelsea in the summer transfer window, with the latter having seen an £80million deal plus add-ons to acquire his services rejected.

Chelsea are reportedly still interested, while Man Utd have also been linked since Ten Hag arrived at Man Utd.

Jude Bellingham – England

Jude Bellingham is one of the most sought-after midfielders in the world and is thought to be on the wishlist of Real Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea and Man Utd.

According to reports in Spain, if the Red Devils side were to sign the 19-year-old they would have to pay more than £100million.

Declan Rice – England

The 23-year-old holding midfielder has been linked to an Old Trafford move for years.

While the signings of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen have eased the need to sign another central midfielder the West Ham star appears destined for a so-called "Big Six" club.

Benjamin Pavard – France

France international Benjamin Pavard has reaffirmed that he is open to leaving Bayern Munich to join a new club. The Red Devils were linked with the defender throughout the summer and could make a move for the 26-year-old in the summer.

Kylian Mbappe – France

It was reported that Kylian Mbappe, arguably the best player in the world, had been identified as a potential January transfer target should Ronaldo leave Old Trafford

Man Utd would have to pay an eye-watering fee, however, given the Frenchman only signed a new three-year deal to stay with Paris Saint-Germain back in May.

Youssoufa Moukoko - Germany

Germany star Youssoufa Moukoko, who is just 17, is yet to decide on his future at Borrusia Dortmund.

The youngster was a surprise name in Hansi Flick’s 26-man Germany squad and has been linked to a move to Man Utd and Liverpool in recent months.

Cody Gakpo – Netherlands

Man Utd are thought to be leading the race against Liverpool to sign Netherlands attacker Cody Gakpo.

The attacker has been in brilliant form this term and shone for the Netherlands in their World Cup opener by scoring the winner against Senegal in a 2-0 victory.

Man Utd held talks last summer and are thought to still be interested in securing the 23-year-old services.

Denzel Dumfries – Netherlands

Man Utd are on the hunt for a new right-back, and Denzel Dumfries has been cited as a possible replacement for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The Inter Milan star said he was “flattered” by the interest of clubs like Man Utd, but in the same breath recommitted his future to the Serie A club.

Frenkie de Jong – Netherlands

Frenkie de Jong was one of Man Utd’s top targets throughout the summer, but at the time the Barcelona star was unwilling to leave his current club.

Ten Hag coached the midfielder at Ajax and reportedly held a phone call this summer to convince the player to join his project at Old Trafford. The Red Devils are reportedly still interested in the player.

Jeremie Frimpong – Netherlands

Jeremie Frimpong has starred at right back for Bayern Leverkusen this term. The former Manchester City player is reportedly being considered as suitable competition for Dalot.

Memphis Depay – Netherlands

Memphis Depay, who had a previously unsuccessful spell at Man Utd, has been linked with a sensational return to the club.

The 28-year-old, who played 53 times for United and scored just seven goals, is likely to leave Barcelona in the next two transfer windows.

Antonio Silva – Portugal

Teenage centre-back Antonio Silva has been linked with a move to Man Utd. However, the Red Devils could reportedly face competition from Liverpool for his signature.

The publication also allegedly has an £87million release clause in his Benfica contract.

Joao Felix – Portugal

Man Utd have been linked with a move for the attacker, who is said to be unhappy with his lack of game time under Diego Simeone at Atletico Madrid.

Ten Hag's side were believed to be interested in offering Felix an escape route in the summer, yet they were put off by his £87million transfer fee.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic - Serbia

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has been linked to a move to the Red Devils for years.

The Serbian star is regarded as one of the finest midfielders in Serie A; his performances at Lazio over the years have seen him linked with multiple big-money moves. As of yet, none have come to fruition.

Sergino Dest – United States

Sergino Dest, who is on loan at AC Milan from Barcelona, was linked with a move to Old Trafford throughout the summer.

Ten Hag gave Dest his Ajax debut and he was understood to be keen on a reunion with the Dutch-born full-back.

Giovanni Reyna - United States

US international Giovanni Reyna has been linked to a Man Utd transfer for a few years. The Old Trafford club were said to be lining up a move for the player last year before he suffered a sustained period on the sidelines through injury.

The Red Devils may revive their interest in the player after the World Cup.
