Manchester United ace Marcus Rashford ‘resented’ former manager Ralf Rangnick after the German’s criticism of his performances.
Rashford was one of the first names on the team sheet during Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s time in charge at Old Trafford, but since the legend’s sacking in November last year, Rashford’s playing time took a huge dive.
During the six months of Rangnick's reign, Rashford only started nine times in the Premier League, the Englishman scored five goals in all competitions during the German’s time at the helm.

It slowly but surely became clear that Rangnick did not rate Rashford enough to hand him more opportunities, one example was when both Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani were both ruled out of the Manchester derby, Rangnick opted to play Bruno Fernandes up front instead of Rashford, United ended up losing 4-1 at the Etihad.
Rangnick was not afraid of telling the truth in public, which left Rashford with a sense of resentment towards the interim boss.
It has been previously reported that 'no one at the club' like Rangnick's style of delivering home truths publicly.

During Rangnick’s time, Rashford saw his chances at United disappear week by week, which led to him being left out of Gareth Southgate’s England squad in March for friendlies against the Ivory Coast and Switzerland.
Rangnick publicly criticised Rashford in April after a draw against Leicester, Rashford was benched for that game.
Rangnick said: "Marcus, it’s no secret that he is not having his best time right now, it has to do with rhythm and confidence as well, yeah, again it’s our job to help him to get this confidence back and that is why I decided to bring him on."

"In the end he has to do it himself obviously, but the only thing we can do is speak to him regularly and tell him what we expect from him and what he should do. The rest has to be done by himself."
He added: "There are quite a few examples this season of players, some of them are still here with us and one or two of them are no longer here, have shown that it is possible to develop within a couple of weeks a level of confidence where you can be a different player again."
"We all know that Marcus can play better, but again in the end the steps he has to take himself."
Rashford will look to put the past behind him and show new manager Erik ten Hag what he can do in order to force his way into his plans.
