Mason Mount fired Chelsea into the lead against West Ham before half-time with a sensational first-time volley after Hakim Ziyech picked him out with a stunning cross.
Thomas Tuchel’s men made the initial breakthrough at the London Stadium on Saturday after Thiago Silva fired a header past Lukasz Fabianski.
However, Edouard Mendy found himself under intense pressure from Jarrod Bowen and the Chelsea No 1 brought him down.

Referee Andre Marriner pointed to the spot and Manuel Lanzini dispatched his penalty past Mendy to pull West Ham back into the match.
Mount stepped up before half-time to restore the Premier League leaders’ advantage with a sublime finish.

Ziyech managed to float the ball into the box from a deep cross, which landed directly in the path of the 22-year-old Chelsea star.

Mount immediately took the chance presented by Ziyech by smashing the ball first time past Fabianski and straight into the bottom corner.
