Mohamed Salah Is 'Running Out Of Ways' To Convince Liverpool Of His New Contract Demands

Mohamed Salah is reportedly 'running out of ways' to convince Liverpool to pay him what he wants in his new contract.

Salah's contract is set to expire in 2023 and he wants to stay at the club, but both parties are yet to reach an agreement.

Reports have suggested Salah wants £300,000-per-week but the Egypt international has stressed he isn't asking of 'crazy things' from the board.

The Daily Telegraph have now suggested Salah could be running out of time to convince owners Fenway Sports Group he deserves that pay rise.

Since arriving from Roma in 2017, Salah has been one of the best players in the Premier League and arguably world football.

He helped the Reds to Champions League glory in 2019 before winning their first Premier League title the following year.

This season, Salah is the league's top scorer with 16 goals in 20 games.

He's currently away with his country for the Africa Cup of Nations and Liverpool will miss his attacking output for the next month.

Salah told GQ Magazine: “I want to stay, but it’s not in my hands. It’s in their hands. They know what I want. I’m not asking for crazy stuff.

“The thing is when you ask for something and they show you they can give you something, they should, because they appreciate what you did for the club.

"I’ve been here for my fifth year here now. I know the club very well. I love the fans. The fans love me. But with the administration, they have [been] told the situation. It’s in their hands.”

Real Madrid have been interested in Salah for a number of years but their sights seem focused on Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is confident Salah will reach an agreement in the coming months.

When asked about the interview with GQ, Klopp said ahead of Thursday's Carabao Cup clash with Arsenal: “There was nothing in it that would be unexpected.

“We know, I know, that Mo wants to stay. We want him to stay.

"That’s the point where we are. These things take time. I can’t change that, sorry! But I think it is all in a good place.

“I am very positive about it."
