Mykhailo Mudryk has already broken a Premier League record this season following his impressive cameo appearance against Liverpool.

Mudryk was given a taste of English football on Saturday after signing for Chelsea in a deal worth a staggering £89 million.

Graham Potter brought on the Ukrainian in the 55th minute at Anfield as he impressed on his debut, showcasing his talents in a blistering cameo with fans comparing him to club legend Eden Hazard.

Despite playing just 35 minutes, the 22-year-old has set a new record this season. The winger clocked a top speed of 36.63 km/h against Liverpool, the fasted speed recorded in the Premier League this season, according to OptaJoe.

He beat Everton's Anthony Gordon to become the fastest player this campaign.

Gordon recorded a top speed of 36.61 km/h ahead of Liverpool's Darwin Nunez, who recorded a top speed of 36.53 km/h .

Erling Haaland has registered a top speed of 36.22 km/h while Mudryk's teammate Denis Zakaria clocked a top speed of 36.09 km/h.

Potter hailed Mudryk's performance against Liverpool and praised his impact on the game.

"He’s not played football for a while, he’s been on a mid-season break, so we had to manage his minutes and he’s still in that phase," he said after the goalless draw.

"But I think you could see his quality, he had a good impact on the game."

Mudryk's insane pace shouldn't come as a surprise because he's putting in the work since his move to the Stamford Bridge outfit. He's staying behind at the club's training base to complete extra gym work.

Performance coach Dima Chapovskyi shared a video of the Chelsea star going through his paces.

Mudryk will be hoping to make his full debut for his new side when they resume their league campaign against Fulham on February 3.
