Nottingham Forest have recently signed youngster Neco Williams but the clever clause that the Merseyside club entered in the deal has also been revealed.
Throughout 2022, it has become increasingly clear that Neco Williams is unlikely to play any kind of part in Jurgen Klopp’s side in the upcoming season.
This is a fact that has been finalised in Nottingham Forest’s recent purchase of the young Welshman, for a fee of up to £17.5 million.

However, before selling the superstar to fellow Premier League competitors Fabrizio Romano revealed that the Reds had inserted a 15% sell-on clause in the deal, which allows them to cut a claim on Williams’ valuation down the line.
It is unclear whether this percentage will be from the total fee or from the profit they make on the deal, but it certainly seems as if Liverpool believe Williams has a bright future ahead of him.
Williams has been at Championship side Fulham after being loaned to the West London side in January.
He has impressed for the cottagers all season and Fulham eventually cruised to the title, scoring a record 106 goals in the process.

Although the 21 year-old was in fine form in Fulham’s stellar campaign, his performances did not take him any closer to first team action at Liverpool. Instead, the reds rubbed salt into his wounds and signed the exciting 18 year-old prospect, Calvin Ramsay, from Aberdeen to challenge for the full-back position.
Newly promoted Nottingham Forest recently confirmed the signing of Neco Williams, after weeks of speculation surrounding his future, with clubs like Southampton and Fulham seriously interested.
This is a deal the club will be over the moon with, especially considering their recent loss of season-long loanee, Djed Spence, back to Middlesbrough, but they have bought in Williams to fill the void at right-back.
The move seems perfect for Williams, allowing him to settle down and play under fellow Welshman Steve Cooper, and giving him solid gametime to impress ahead of the World Cup in Qatar.
