Football fans were not exactly taken by Sky Sports new scoreboard graphic, as Crystal Palace welcomed Arsenal in the Premier League opener.

There was excitement in the air on Friday night as the Premier League finally (?)(it's only been a few weeks) kicked off again, with Palace welcoming Arsenal to Selhurst Park.
There were some changes to be taken in on the pitch, with both teams featuring players that were making their debuts, whether in the league or just for their clubs.
With nearly three quarters of all Fantasy Premier League players picking Gabriel Jesus, the Brazilian was arguably the most interesting of the debutants.
However, instead of the former Manchester City forward catching the eyes of the viewing public, it was Sky's new scoreboard that everyone was talking about.
In the top left hand corner of the screen, fans were no longer seeing the three letter acronym to tell them who was playing, but instead the two club crests.

Feel like changes to the Sky Sports scoreboard should be the sort of thing that gets a public consultation and referendum.

Sky had likely picked the Gunners to open the season for two reasons, one being that their new Amazon Prime Video docuseries is all the rage.
Arteta's decision to play 'You'll Never Walk Alone' on speakers in training in All or Nothing certainly caught people's attention, wonder if he played 'Glad All Over' this week.
But the main reason was probably that the north London side opened last season with a loss to then newly promoted Brentford and the cameras were probably hoping for another upset, especially as Palace took four points off them last season.
Gabriel Martinelli had a great chance early on to end any of that talk, when he got on the end of a blocked shot from Jesus, only to somehow blast wide.

It's the first goal of the 2022/23 Premier League season! ⚽💥 pic.twitter.com/ALAUwge1ZQ
However, the 21-year-old did manage to pick himself up soon after and gave the visitors the lead in the 20th minute, nodding home after a corner was headed back into danger by Oleksandr Zinchenko, another debutant.
The hosts did manage to start building back into the first half but they were unable to get onto the scoreboard, no matter how ugly it is...
