Alvaro Morata 'Cannot Play Another Minute' For Spain At Euro 2020 After TV Presenter's Scathing Attack

Alvaro Morata has failed to convince Spanish media of his place in Spain's starting XI after one TV presenter launched a scathing attack on him.

The 28-year-old Juventus striker was heavily criticised for missing chances in Spain's Euro 2020 opener against Sweden at the Estadio La Cartuja.

Spain manager Luis Enrique subsequently defended Morata and kept faith in him as he started him for the Poland clash on Saturday.

Morata opened the scoring in the first half against Poland, but he missed a couple of chances before he was replaced by Mikel Oyarzabal in the 87th minute.

Poland captain Robert Lewandowski pulled back an equaliser in the second half as Spain secured only a point from their second Euro 2020 clash.

Now, El Chiringuito host Josep Pedrerol has hit out at Morata by claiming that he isn't the type of player who "inspires" in the Spain squad.

The 55-year-old Spanish reporter pulled no punches towards the Spain international by saying he "makes both fathers and children fall asleep watching him."

According to Marca, Pedrerol explained: "Morata cannot play another minute with the national team.

"He's not a player who inspires. With his game, he makes both fathers and children fall asleep watching him."

Speaking ahead of the Poland match, Morata didn't shy away from the criticisms he has faced as he revealed his approach is to "respect it and work, work, work."

The Juventus star, who is on loan from Atletico Madrid, explained: "I talk about everything. I know he [Spain sports psychologist Joaquin Valdes] is there at my disposal and for all my teammates.

"I'm fine, I've had too long a career to worry what people think about me. I can't be loved by everyone.

"When there is criticism, you just have to respect it and work, work, work. I am more concerned by what my teammates think. I am phenomenal."

Spain are third in Group E and are two points behind first-place Sweden and one point behind second-place Slovakia.
