Antonio Conte Plotting £96 Million Raid On Former Club Juventus

The Chelsea boss wants reinforcements, and has turned to his former side.

Antonio Conte is looking to improve his title-winning Chelsea considerably for next season, and two players from his old club Juventus are central to his transfer plans.

The signing of Willy Caballero on a free transfer is said to be a done deal, with only an official announcement remaining, while a deal Monaco midfielder Tiemoué Bakayoko appears to be nearing completion.

But Champions League football to contend with next season, Conte wants to bring two of last season's finalists to Stamford Bridge in order to take his defence up another level completely.

And Italian outlet Corriere Dello Sport say that Chelsea are plotting a massive £96 million double swoop for Juventus defenders Leonardo Bonucci and Alex Sandro.

Bonucci, whom Conte has worked with at the Juventus Stadium as well as the Italian national team fold, has been heavily linked with joining up with his former boss again. Though initially reports suggested that he wasn't interested in leaving Turin after winning another Scudetto and that a deal for Virgil van Dijk was more likely for Chelsea, the consensus is that he is now open to a move.

As for Sandro, the left-back who made 47 appearances and earned rave reviews for his performances over the season, and the talk is that things are progressing well regarding the Brazilian's impending move to Chelsea.
