Ashley Young Still Claims That A Bird Didn't Poo In His Mouth

The Manchester United skipper is still denying it five years on...

Ashley Young still claims a bird did not poo in his mouth many years back even though his wife and kids disagree.

Playing for Manchester United against Swansea City in August 2014, Young appeared to have a bird's droppings land in his mouth when he was furiously venting at his teammates.

The cameras zoomed in and the video promptly went viral - to the point where it's probably going to be the main memory fans have of Young despite his Premier League title win in 2012/13.

Literally everyone else, including Young's family, thinks a pigeon did indeed do its business in his mouth but the man himself is still not having it five years on.

"It didn't happen!" Young told the UTD Podcast.

"I've said this for God knows how long. It got to a point where I thought I need to do an interview to say that this didn't happen, but I just couldn't be bothered. It had gone viral, it's still going viral I think now. Even my wife and kids say a bird pooed in your mouth, but no it didn't!"

In the past Young has confirmed it was "100 per cent" not bird poo, while an MUTV producer concurs with his statement after apparently reviewing the footage "frame by frame" as though it was a penalty decision VAR were checking.

Still, Young's trolling is unlikely to stop - particularly if his own teammates are on board with it. Jesse Lingard ripped into him last season when a pigeon was on the pitch in United's win over Leicester City.

As much as Young plays it down, it looks like he's just going to have to live with it.
