Moussa Dembele has caused worry amongst football fans, after the Atletico Madrid striker suddenly fainted whilst stretching during training.

The former Lyon striker, who moved to La Liga in January on loan, with an option to make the deal permanent, has played just four times for Diego Simeone's side.

On Tuesday he was training, with the rest of the players who are still in Madrid during the international break, when he suddenly collapsed to the ground.

According to reports, the 24-year-old momentarily lost consciousness but was able to leave the pitch under his own powers.

It's certainly a worrying scene for Dembele and fans, and the 24-year-old went for medical tests following the episode.

Players suddenly fainting brings back memories of Fabrice Muamba collapsing during Bolton Wanderers FA Cup tie with Tottenham Hotspur nine years ago.

Memories of Marc Vivien Foe dying during Cameroon's Confederations Cup semi-final against Colombia in 2003 we also come flooding back.

Hopefully Dembele is okay and it's nothing more than a scare.

Following the weekend's game, in which Dembele came off the bench and missed a glorious chance, as Jan Oblak's penalty save kept Atleti top of La Liga, Simeone had some words of warning to Dembele.

"I always say that the number of minutes is not important. What matters is the quality of these minutes.

"I hope that Dembele can bring us what we hoped for when he arrived in the team."

We all hope he is fit and able to make a difference in the near future.
