In one final bit of absurdity to see out 2020, Thomas Muller has announced he is selling horse semen.

The Bayern Munich star and his wife Lisa, a champion dressage rider, have been running a farm called Gut Wettlekam for a number of years now but the location is now the official EU insemination station for dressage horses.

Muller informed fans of the news on Instagram, writing: "Lisa and I have taken the next step in our 'horse life'. Gut Wettlkam is looking forward to the 2021 breeding season with our stallions."

Gut Wettlekam have three trusty stallions available for selection: D'avie, Four Roses and Bowmore.

"Captain" D'avie is the Robert Lewandowski-like horse and the double champion and his services are the most expensive.

Two rounds of insemination from D'avie, a double champion, costs a ridiculous €1,600 and that's before you take the 7% VAT and other additional fees into account.

"Discovered as a future hope for top dressage sport, since his arrival at our farm D'avie has not only put a smile on my wife Lisa every day," World Cup winner Muller writes on the official website.

"As a dressage enthusiast, horse lover and long-time breeder, you usually still find a fly in the ointment even with a double world champion, but D'avie countered me with the previously unknown number of positive attributes with which you can describe horses."

If you're interested in further details, the semen order is processed by cooperation partner Zuchthof Wadenspanner and orders must be placed by 10am on weekdays and 9:30am on weekends so next day delivery can take place.

Clearly there's an extremely steady extra income for Muller and his other half as he enters the final stage of his footballing career.

In fact, BILD say the 31-year-old is vying to become a "sperm millionaire" in addition to the millions he has made from doing the business for Bayern and Germany.
