A bloodied Carles Puyol was photographed after he shockingly ran through glass to get a tennis ball back.
The Barcelona legend, 42, was playing a match of tennis with a friend when he showed how much of an 'absolute competitor' he was.
The picture showed the retired footballer using a towel to clean up the blood covering his left leg and left arm.

And another photo showed the damage that Puyol caused by his 'unreal mentality.'
Fans are divided on the Spaniard's behaviour as many supporters praised his tenacity while others slated his actions.
Puyol spent his entire career at Barcelona and is widely regarded as one of the best defenders of his generation.

The former centre-back captained the Spanish side for a decade and won 20 honours with the club, which included six La Liga titles and three Champions League trophies.
The ex-Spain international also won the World Cup with his country in 2010 and the Euros in 2008.
Puyol revealed that Real Madrid were interested in signing him twice, but he turned down the chance to move to Los Blancos on both occasions.

"They tried to sign me on those two occasions, but I was at the best club in the world and wanted to win titles there," he told Catalan channel TV3.
"So I stayed.
"The first time was in the season following my marking on Luis Figo. [The second was when] Real Madrid appointed [Jose Antonio] Camacho as their new coach and he wanted me and Ronaldinho."
