Cristiano Ronaldo Picks Out The Opposition Player He Had Most Difficulty Against

As one of the greatest players of all-time, Cristiano Ronaldo has come up against the very best opponents in world football - whether that be in the Premier League with Manchester United, La Liga's finest with Real Madrid, Europe's elite in the Champions League or in the international stage playing for Portugal.

The Sporting Lisbon youth product had an array of options to choose from when asked to choose his toughest opponent.

But he opted too pick out former England left-back Ashley Cole, who he came up against in high-profile games against Arsenal and Chelsea as well as games between Portugal and England.

Speaking to Coach Magazine, he said:

"Over the years I had some great battles with Ashley Cole, he does not give you a second to breathe. He was such a tenacious player when he was at his peak, quick, tough in the tackle. You knew it would never be an easy game."

Watching Ronaldo and Cole go at it in their absolute prime in the Premier League really was a joy to watch and it's certainly high praise from Los Blancos' No.7 for the three-time Premier League winner.
