Should this marvelous finish from Tottenham's Son Heung-Min have been chalked off?

When referee Kevin Friend put his finger in his ear after Son smashed the ball into the top left corner after a pin-point pass from Christian Eriksen found the South Korean, we all rolled our eyes and thought of VAR.

VAR is supposed to liaise with the on-pitch referee to relay information on calls but the problems remain - why does it take so long and is this system really 'that' accurate?

The officials now have access to more camera angles than ever before, but some continue to question if the angles are in the right position.

It would seem the pictures were inconclusive, according to the officials, but Twitter had very different ideas.

Here's how people reacted to the decision:

It was revealed earlier that VAR will be used at the World Cup this summer.

Thoughts on the system? Will it eventually ruin our beautiful game?

Remember, it's supposed to be used for clear and obvious mistakes and none of us can still be sure if it was onside or offside.

Let us know in the comments.
