Marouane Fellaini fumed at the referee after his 94th winner was disallowed today.

The big Belgian is plying his trade with Shandong Luneng in the Chinese Super League and thought he had won the game against Hebei China Fortune for his side in the dying embers.

As he has done countless times in his career, Fellaini rose highest and nodded home at the far post - only for the referee to blow the whistle for a foul.

It seems the thinking of the official was that Fellaini had pushed the defender as he climbed for leverage to get a good connection on the header, yet bizarrely VAR did not even look at the decision.

After going down with cramp and receiving treatment in what appeared to be a move try and make time for a VAR check, Fellaini was absolutely furious.

The captain was seen shouting "bullshit" and "f*** off" to the referee as his frustrations boiled over .

The play-off first round first leg finished 2-2, with the two teams slated to go at it again in the return fixture next Saturday.

Fellaini made the move to the far East from Manchester United in January 2019 and made headlines in July when he scored an seven minute hat-trick of headers.
