Former AC Milan wonderkid Hachim Mastour is now without a club after being released by Reggina.

The 23-year-old joined the Italian side in 2019 and spent the second half of last season on loan at Carpi, where he played 10 times and scored his first ever professional goal.

He initially signed a three-year deal with Reginna, who have now announced the termination of his contract with mutual consent.

"Reggina 1914 announces that it has reached an agreement for the consensual termination of the contract with the player Hachim Mastour," the club said in a statement.

"The club wishes Hachim the best of human and professional fortunes."

Mastour was signed by Milan as a 14-year-old from Reggiana for a reported fee of €500,000 (£408,000) in 2012.

Helped by the seal of approval from legendary Milan and Italy manager Arrigo Sacchi, the Rossoneri beat the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester City to secure his services.

There was hype surrounding Morocco's youngest ever senior international due to YouTube compilations of him gathering millions of views following his five goals in the Ielasi Memorial tournament

But Mastour failed to make a single appearance for Milan. He made the bench under Clarence Seedorf in 2013/14 and was on the verge of breaking Paolo Maldini's record for the club's youngest ever player - although he was not brought on.

In fact, his only notable action was that former manager Gennaro Gattuso threatened to break his teeth if he didn't buckle down.

He was loaned out to La Liga side Malaga and PEC Zwolle in Holland but played just six first-team games in total for both clubs and ended up joining Greek side Lamia on a free in 2018.

Mastour only played four times there before the move to Reggina came about and yet again, he now finds himself looking for a club.
