Former Manchester United Player Is A Penalty Shootout Hero After Two Goalkeepers Sent Off

Former Manchester United striker Mame Biram Diouf was the hero in Hatayspor's penalty shootout victory over Eyupspor, after going in goal and scoring from the spot.
The Sun reports how the Senegalese striker found himself at the complete opposite end of the pitch, when both the first-and-second-choice goalkeepers were shown straight red cards as the last man.
With the score level at 1-1 after extra time, Diouf stepped up to take his place between the two sticks for the spot-kicks.

The ex-Red Devils frontman coolly slotted home the first penalty before going in goal to preserve his side's lead in the shootout.
Diouf didn't manage to save a penalty, but was still on the winning side with Eyupspor missing their first and last penalties to ensure Hatayspor won 6-5 from the spot.
The 33-year-old has made a big impression during his time in Turkey, after scoring six goals in 14 appearances across all competitions for Hatayspor this season.
He moved to the club on a free transfer from Stoke City in August 2020, following a six-year spell in the Potteries, where he scored 25 goals in 157 appearances.
Stoke was the third club which Diouf played for in England, after a loan spell with Blackburn Rovers and two-and-a-half years at Old Trafford.
The frontman followed in the footsteps of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in making the switch from Molde to Manchester, but did make anywhere near the same sort of impact as the Norwegian.
He was limited to only nine appearances in a United shirt, with his only goal coming in a 3-0 win over Burnley in January 2010.
That first season also saw Diouf secure the only major trophy of his career to date, as Sir Alex Ferguson's side triumphed over Aston Villa in the League Cup final.
As well as playing in his native Senegal for ASC Jaraaf, he also spent two-and-a-half years in the Bundesliga with Hannover.
But now Diouf's focus will be on a Turkish Süper Lig match at home to İstanbul Başakşehir on Sunday.
