"Sorry... WHAT?"

Jurgen Klopp was left open-mouthed by a reporter's question - or rather his strong Birmingham accent - during an entertaining post-match press conference.

Liverpool picked up all three points in a hard-fought 1-0 win against Steven Gerrard's Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon thanks to Mohamed Salah and his 21st goal of the season.

The Egyptian forward, who has scored or assisted in every Liverpool game since their draw against Chelsea in August, converted from the spot after being brought down by Tyrone Mings.

Away from the result and after the full-time whistle, Klopp was asked about his thoughts on Aston Villa's overall performance in the clash at Anfield by Villa's club reporter.

"What are your thoughts on how Villa lined up today and how they played?" he says in the press conference. "I'm the opposition reporter. I want your take on Villa today, please."

A confused Klopp attempts to absorb what he's just heard, smiles and then delivers this classic response.

Liverpool's media officer proceeded to translate the answer and Klopp went on to answer the question.

"So, what can I say? I think we were the better team; for 75 minutes, for sure, and opened up the game in the last 15 minutes because we lost rhythm a little bit." the German said.

"We changed offensively and all of a sudden there were some situations, half-chances, situations that were a little bit tricky. But for 75 minutes we were the clear better side.

"I don't know exactly what that says about Villa now because I'm not so much in that. My job today was to make sure that we caused Villa a lot of problems and I think we did that over 75 minutes with the way we played.

"We could have been better around the last pass, our decision-making there could have been better. One or two more bodies in the box in one or two moments would have been helpful. But that's it.
