Jake Paul Confirms Tommy Fury Fight Date - With The Event Set To Take Place In Florida

After a war of words online, the pair will finally meet in the ring before the end of 2021.

Jake Paul has taken to social media to officially confirm his fight with Tommy Fury, with the bout set to take place on the 18th December in Tampa Bay, Florida.

The former YouTube vlogger will be facing off against a professional boxer for the very first time in the form of Fury, after previously besting MMA veterans Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley.

Fury meanwhile, who is the younger brother of WBA world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, will pause his efforts in the professional ranks to take on the social media sensation.

The 21-year-old has a 7-0 professional record so far, having out-pointed American fighter Anthony Taylor last time out on the undercard of Paul v Woodley.

Paul also went on to win his bout via a points decision, although he did get rocked by the former UFC champion for the first time in his - albeit short - boxing career.

The event, according to the American's announcement post on Twitter, is due to take place at the Amalie Arena in Tampa Bay.

The indoor venue, with a capacity of 21,000, is the permanent home of NHL ice hockey team, the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Should the fight go ahead as planned on the 18th of December, it will be The Problem Child's third contest of the year, as the 24-year-old defeated Ben Askren via a concussive second-round KO back in April.

His fight with Fury looked to be in jeopardy only a matter of weeks ago, as the former Love Island finalist took to Instagram to call out Paul's low-ball fight offers.

He described the first offer as "not worth getting out of bed for", despite reports indicating that it would have been Fury's biggest career payday - and by a substantial margin.

The fight is set to be aired on Showtime in the U.S, and will, as expected, be pay-per-view for Stateside fans.

UK coverage details haven't been announced just yet, but with Fury being represented by Frank Warren and Queensbury Promotions, there stands a decent chance of it landing on BT Sport.
