Jamie Redknapp's Spurs Player Of The Season Is A Bizarre Pick

Interesting choice...

Sky pundits have been handing out their half-season awards including Jamie Redknapp. The former Premier League midfielder has been naming the star man in each Premier League team in his Daily Mail column.

The clubs hard work from last season was wasted as they faltered in the final stretch of the campaign not to mention being dumped out of the Champions League.

This time around, they sit just outside the top four as they vie for another spot in Europe's elite competition.

But while the likes of Harry Kane, Mousa Dembele and Toby Alderweireld rack up plaudits, the ex-Spurs man has named Victor Wanyama as their best performer so far.

Following his £11 million transfer to The Lane in the Summer, Wanyama has made 17 league appearances as well as bagging two goals.

When writing about the clubs star man, Redknapp wrote;

"Victor Wanyama. This time last year you would not have thought anyone could displace Eric Dier but that's what this powerhouse has done."

Other than being shown the red card twice in 2016, it's hard to fathom how the Kenyan is pipped ahead of the aforementioned names.

Not to mention Hugo Lloris, Jan Vertonghen or Christian Eriksen.

Do you agree with his choice?
