Joey Barton believes fans of N'Golo Kante are getting carried away when they say he's one of the best midfield players in the world.
The Burnley midfielder appeared to be watching on as France lost 2-0 to Spain last night.
Kante was part of that France team which came off second best to the Spanish, with Andres Iniesta, Sergio Busquets and Koke dominating the ball and the game.

Inevitably, the Kante critics appeared - and, although Barton admits that the Chelsea midfielder is a fantastic player, the former Rangers man believes fans have been getting carried away with their rating of his performances:
The 34-year old has set up a poll asking fans to pick whether they would rather have Toni Kroos, Marco Verratti, David Silva or N'Golo Kante.

"For pundits, he's the best midfielder in the world. That's not true. He's very good, but I played against him 3 weeks ago.
"He's a great destroyer who played in a great team, but he's not a creator. It's impossible to be so definitive with a player who hasn't played in Champions League."
Is Barton right? Is Kante deserving of the hype he is getting at the moment or is it over the top?
