Jorge Masvidal has reacted to Conor McGregor's performance in his triumphant comeback fight at UFC 246.

Masvidal was cageside to see McGregor pick up an extremely comfortable win over Donald Cerrone after 15 months away from MMA.

UFC veteran 'Cowboy', who holds the record for the most wins and finishes in UFC history, was defeated in 40 seconds at UFC 246 because of a deadly start to proceedings from McGregor.

lt all started with the Notorious smashing Cerrone with a number of shoulder strikes in the clinch - breaking his nose in the process.

A swift head kick and ground and pound brought about the stoppage from referee Herb Dean, before McGregor had a couple of things to say about Masvidal and his Versace dressing gown in his post-match interview.

The BMF champion had stayed quiet but decided to take to Twitter to make a short but clear message.

"Saw what I needed to see #theresurrection," the 35-year old wrote.

Masvidal will no doubt have a lot more to say on the matter when he joins the Ariel Helwani show on Monday evening.

McGregor and Masvidal have gone back and forth in recent times, with the Irishman recently explaining he would prefer to face the Cuban-American before welterweight champion Kamaru Usman.

He confirmed he is still very much interested in the bout when speaking to Helwani in his locker room.

"No problem. We can do that, no problem," he said.

"Is he trying to get my attention? What kind of underwear was he wearing, do you know what I mean? I don't know what that means. A bleedin' housecoat. The grannies in Ireland wear housecoats watching the soaps, the soap opera shows. Me nanny wears that. I don't know what that was about."

However, UFC president Dana White has gone on record to warn McGregor against squaring off against 'Gamebred'.

He said: "Conor has this idea, too, that if things don't go his way and he [doesn't] get the fight [with Khabib], he'll have had a 170 fight in his pocket again and [is] considering a [Jorge] Masvidal fight.

"I think everybody knows what I think about it. I think it's a bad idea.

"Conor gets pissed off when I say it's a bad idea, and he's like, "You think I can't beat Masvidal?"

"I'm not saying you can't beat Masvidal. Anybody can beat anybody on any given day, but why? Why go after that fight when you could possibly just wait?"
