Roy Keane Claims That Four Liverpool Players Wouldn’t Get Into Manchester United’s Team

Manchester United legend Roy Keane pulled no punches towards Liverpool's players, saying that "parts of the team haven’t been up to it."

Roy Keane has insisted that four Liverpool players would not make it into Premier League sides like Leicester City, Manchester United or Manchester City.

Liverpool's 68-match Premier League unbeaten run at Anfield came to an end last month after a shock 1-0 defeat to Burnley.

And the Reds' home form has continued to fall after suffering defeats against Brighton and City this month.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Keane criticised Jurgen Klopp's squad depth at Liverpool and the quality of some of the Reds' players.

The 49-year-old Irishman singled out Liverpool quartet James Milner, Xherdan Shaqiri, Divock Origi and Caoimhin Kelleher wouldn't feature in Leicester, United or City's team.

"Whatever about the two centre-halves, the other parts of the team, the midfield and going forward. Their back-up players haven't been good enough," Keane said.

"A lot of players, who have been involved with Liverpool, I suppose their game against Brighton, where Brighton were the better team.

"And I am on about the Milner's of this world, the Shaqiri's, Origi and Kelleher, okay, he's a young 'keeper coming through.

"But these boys wouldn't get into the Man City team, the Man United team or even the Leicester team. And these are the back-up players that haven't shown to be good enough.

"So, whatever about the two centre-halves, which has been a big problem, other parts of the team haven't been up to it."

Keane also branded Liverpool "bad champions" and criticised Klopp's excuses after the Reds' 4-1 defeat to City on the weekend.

Liverpool are currently fourth in the Premier League and have fallen 10 points behind Pep Guardiola's title-challenging side.

The Reds will return to Premier League action on Saturday as they travel to the King Power for their clash with Leicester.

Klopp's men will resume their Champions League campaign next week as they take on RB Leipzig in the first leg of their round-of-16 tie.
