Harry Kane was lucky to avoid a red card following a studs-up tackle on Andy Robertson, with Jurgen Klopp raging that he wasn't sent off.

After putting Tottenham in the lead against Liverpool, Kane left Robertson in a heap with a reckless challenge.

The England international slid in and caught the Scotland defender high on the shin in a nasty clash.

Paul Tierney, though, only brandished a yellow card to the anger of Klopp, who wanted the Spurs man red carded.

The Liverpool boss fumed on the touchline, remonstrating the decision to hand Kane just a caution.

Kane's tackle on Robertson sent social media into overdrive, with most fans convinced it was a red card.

One tweeted: "Easy red. No idea how he's still on the pitch. If Robertson doesn't jump out of the way then that's a potential broken leg."

A second wrote: "Never a red, stupid but no red."

A third added: "How was this not a red? England captain saved once again."

On commentary, Gary Neville said: "Harry Kane is a lucky boy. That was not a clever challenge."

Should Kane have been sent off? Let us know what you think.
