Jurgen Klopp is already preparing for a major squad overhaul at Liverpool as six first-team players are on the chopping block this summer, according to reports.

Liverpool's Premier League title defence isn't going the way that Klopp had hoped as the Reds languish 10 points behind Manchester City.

But Klopp has also had to deal with the injuries that have been dealt to crucial first-team players at Liverpool.

Liverpool's centre-back duo of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez are unlikely to return before the end of the season due to their respective injuries.

Klopp's defensive woes saw Liverpool sign Ben Davies from Preston North End in a £1.6m deal and Ozan Kabak on loan from Schalke in January.

According to The Sun, Xherdan Shaqiri's time at Anfield might be drawing to an end as the former Bayern Munich man could be axed.

The Athletic reports that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who has only made two Premier League starts this season, could be sold in the summer.

Georginio Wijnaldum was heavily linked with Barcelona last summer, but the Spanish side failed to land the Dutchman.

And the 30-year-old midfielder is out of contract in the summer and could reunite with Barca boss Ronald Koeman at the Camp Nou on a free transfer.

Goalkeeper Adrian could leave Liverpool alongside Wijnaldum, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Shaqiri, according to reports.

Divock Origi is another first-team player who is on the chopping block this summer.

The 25-year-old Belgian forward has only scored once in 15 appearances across all competitions.

Origi has fallen further down the pecking order with the arrival of Diogo Jota from Wolves last September.

The Athletic also reports that Naby Keita could leave Anfield this summer as he's struggled since his arrival at Liverpool in 2018.

The 25-year-old midfielder has been marred with injuries and seen opportunities limited even further with Thiago Alcantara's arrival from Bayern Munich.
