Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set to make some big and long overdue changes with the United squad for next season and United are actively looking to strengthen their attack with Lyon's Moussa Dembele.
Last month it was reported that United had made contact regarding a potential move, with Solskjaer studying Dembele and looking at his attitude as a means to find out whether he would be a worthwhile addition to his side.
And now, according to Benjamin Quarez from the French version of Goal, United have tabled a bid in excess of €40 million for the 22-year old striker.
Dembele still has four years remaining on his contract at the Groupama Stadium and Lyon would be doubling the money they paid to land him if they decided to accept United's proposal.

A Paris Saint-Germain youth product, Dembele scored 51 goals in 94 appearances for Celtic - winning back-to-back trebles under Brendan Rodgers.
Should he arrive back in England with United, it would likely bring about the end of Romelu Lukaku's stint at Old Trafford.
The Belgian, United's second most expensive addition, lost his place towards the end of last season.
