Manchester City made a huge website gaffe when they accidentally 'announced' Kalidou Koulibaly in an article about signing Ruben Dias last night,

The Portuguese international has joined City from Benfica for a club-record £65 million, with Nicolas Otamendi heading in the opposite direction.

Signing on a six-year contract, Dias appears to have come in as an alternative to Napoli defender Koulibaly - who had been heavily linked.

But bizarrely, in articles on their official website regarding the Dias transfer, there was a competition advertised whereby fans could enter to win a signed Koulibaly shirt.

At the bottom of another article there was also a link to ask the Senegalese a question. Both of these hyperlinked to Dias-related content and have since been changed but not before plenty of people noticed the error.

23-year old Dias, who has in fact signed and not Koulibaly, takes the No.3 shirt and is targeting silverware at the Etihad Stadium.

"To have the opportunity to join a club like Manchester City is a fantastic opportunity for me and one I couldn't turn down," he told mancity.com.

"Their success speaks for itself. They have been the dominant team in England over the last few years, playing an attacking brand of football which I feel suits my own game.

"It is really exciting to be part of such a talented squad and to play for a world class manager like Pep Guardiola, who has a proven track record of developing young players like myself.

"I believe I can improve here, at a club whose ambitions match my own and I will give everything to be successful and win titles."
