Manchester United are 'considering' Julian Nagelsmann as a potential target alongside Mauricio Pochettino to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Solskjaer's future at Old Trafford has been cast in uncertainty after the Red Devils suffered back-to-back defeats against Arsenal and Istanbul Basaksehir.

And the 47-year-old Norwegian, who replaced Jose Mourinho in 2018, could reportedly be axed should United fail to beat Everton at Goodison Park this weekend.

Pochettino has been heavily linked with United in recent weeks and is seen as the clear favourite to replace Solskjaer.

However, ESPN reports that United are eying up RB Leipzig coach Nagelsmann as a potential replacement for Solskjaer.

United have already faced RB Leipzig in the Champions League this season and sealed a sensational 5-0 victory at Old Trafford last month.

But ESPN claims that Nagelsmann has 'admirers at Old Trafford' and the club still identify him as a viable target alongside Pochettino.

According to the publication, United would be able to land Pochettino more easily than Nagelsmann due to the current football season being well underway.

United have only managed two wins in the league this season and are currently 15th, with a potential defeat to Everton seeing them fall even further in the table.

Pochettino, 48, has been out of management since he was axed at Tottenham in 2019.

The Argentine led Spurs to the final of the League Cup in 2015 and the final of the Champions League in 2019, losing on both occasions.

The Red Devils have also been linked with Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone and former Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri.

United will resume their Premier League campaign today with a 12:30pm UK kick-off time against Everton.
