Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini could well be set for a retrospective ban for pulling Matteo Guendouzi's hair in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last night.

Six yellow cards were dished out in the feisty game at Old Trafford but somehow Fellaini, on as a second half substitute, did not receive a caution.

Having shockingly chopped off his trademark afro last month in a move that well and truly sent social media into overdrive (partly because Fellaini seemingly didn't know his own birthday as well as the trim) - the 31-year old is clearly missing his famed hairdo.

And so when he came across Arsenal midfielder Guendouzi in the closing stages, he yanked at the 19-year old's luscious locks.

But while it was a comical moment, fans have called for the former Everton man to be banned for his hair-pulling antics.

There are two high-profile hair-pulling incidents in the history of the Premier League and both have resulted in suspensions for the guilty parties.

Ian Wright was slapped with a three-match ban back in 1996 when he took a chunk out of Sheffield Wednesday winger Regi Blinker's dreadlocks, while Robert Huth was hit with the same sanction in 2016 when Fellaini was ironically his victim after they clashed in the box during a set piece.

Fellaini himself also experienced the same punishment for retaliating with an elbow.

Given Andre Marriner did not book Fellaini, the FA have the ability to take matters into their own hands and the chances of him getting let off the hook do look very slim.
