Edouard Mendy Almost Scored The Most Embarrassing Own Goal In Premier League History

Chelsea keeper Edouard Mendy almost scored one of the most embarrassing own goals in Premier League history against Manchester United.

Mendy horribly misjudged a pass which went out for a corner on Saturday.

The Frenchman received the ball from Kurt Zouma then nearly put the ball into the back of his own net.

Needless to say, Mendy's lapse of concentration sent social media wild.

One Twitter user joked: "He is unleashing his inner Kepa."

A second tweeted: "There was a time when Chelsea boasted of elite GKs- Courtois and Cech."

A third added: "Mendy doing his best Cech impression."

Mendy recovered from his mistake by denying Marcus Rashford and Juan Mata from scoring before the break.
