Ralf Rangnick once used a spinning wheel to determine player punishments at RB Leipzig, with one of the forfeits making you train in a tutu.

Rangnick is poised to join Manchester United as an interim manager until the end of the season following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

He comes to England having built an impressive reputation in Germany, managing the likes of Stuttgart, Hannover, Hoffenheim, Schalke and Leipzig.

The 63-year-old has been dubbed the Godfather of Gegenpressing and a footballing professor who has mastered the art of pressing.

He's also known to be bit of a disciplinarian, having introduced a spinning wheel during his spell at Leipzig.

It was his way on how to determine punishments and some of the penalties included were hilariously brutal.

From working in the club shop to serving food in the canteen, not to mention mowing the grass on the training pitches.

Rangnick's spinning wheel is a small insight into his management style, with the German nearing a deal to coach in the Premier League.

When he signs his contract, he will also take on a consultancy role with Old Trafford outfit for two further years.

Rangnick, though, will not be in charge this weekend against Chelsea.

Temporary manager Michael Carrick, who oversaw the club's victory against Villareal on Tuesday, is set to remain in charge of the team at Stamford Bridge.

Asked about the prospect of working with Rangnick, the 40-year-old said: "My future is this next two or three days. That's as far as I am prepared to look

"That's the right way to go about it. Football is that kind of business that you never know what is round the corner at the best of times.

"All my energy and my mind at the moment is on Sunday."
