Granit Xhaka Hits Out At Patrice Evra Over 'Bullsh*t' Comments Made After Arsenal's Defeat

Arsenal captain Granit Xhaka has fired back at Manchester United legend Patrice Evra over his scathing attack on the Gunners.

Unai Emery's men suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Monday night.

And Evra, who appeared on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football, reignited his rivalry with the Gunners as he savagely called the Gunners "my babies."

Xhaka, 27, has slammed the 38-year-old Frenchman for his "bulls**t" comments.

The Gunners midfielder explained: "A lot of people speak too much.

"I have a lot of respect for him because he was a great player, but you have to be careful what you say.

"He knows these situations well, but it's not only him.

"A lot of people speak a lot of bulls**t and it's always the same.

"For me, it's strange because they [former players] have been in the same situation as us -- maybe it was sometimes good, sometimes not so good, but like I said, if you speak bulls**t like this every weekend, then what they say doesn't get respected."

Lys Mousset's first-half strike stunned the Gunners and added to Arsenal's woes away from home.

The Gunners have lost twice in the Premier League this season, but they haven't won an away match in the league since their 1-0 victory over Newcastle on the opening day of the campaign.

However, Xhaka once again blasted comments made about Arsenal's away form and said that now is the time to "stop talking about [the mental side of the game] and bulls**t like this."

He continued: "I'm sorry to say that, but for me, it's the same whether you play at home or away -- you have to win and show big character and not look for the same excuse."

Arsenal fans were furious their side were denied a penalty when John Egan yanked Sokratis' shirt during a corner and VAR didn't review the decision.

And Nicolas Pepe, who was the club's record summer signing, was also heavily criticised for missing an incredible opportunity from six yards out.

Arsenal are fifth in the Premier League and will now resume their Europa League campaign on Thursday when they host Portuguese side Vitoria de Guimaraes.
