A pint of beer was thrown at RB Leipzig players as they celebrated a goal against Club Brugge, so defender Joško Gvardiol decided to do head it away in a quite incredible moment.

Jesse Marsch's side knocked five goals past the Belgian Pro League side in Wednesday night's Champions League clash in Group A.

Christopher Nkunku, who has netted 12 goals in all competitions this season, opened the scoring with just 12 minutes on the clock and well, the floodgates opened.

Emil Forsberg [2], Andre Silva and another goal from former PSG man Nkunku sealed an emphatic 5-0 victory against bottom of the group Brugge, who struggled throughout.

And after one of those goals, three Leipzig players were celebrating near the corner flag when a supporter inside the Jan Breydel Stadium hurled a pint of beer at the group.

But out of nowhere, defender Joško Gvardiol intercepted the plastic cup by headbutting it back in the direction of the crowd.

The incident comes just days after Dimitri Payet was struck by a bottle during Marseille's clash against Lyon.

In the fifth minute of last weekend's Ligue 1 game, Lyon supporter Wilfried Serriere threw the object at the former West Ham midfielder as he prepared to take a corner.

Payet fell to the group and later required treatment.

The Lyon fan has since been given a six-month suspended prison sentence. "I don't know what was going through my mind," Serriere told the court.
