Gonzalo Higuain has been linked with a sensational move to Chelsea in recent weeks but it looks like Maurizio Sarri will not get his man.

Reports have recently emerged that the Argentinian forward has agreed a move to Italian football's sleeping giant.

Juventus are set to take a big cut after spending £75.3 million on the former Napoli striker in 2016, but it is reported that he will join AC Milan on a loan deal.

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims that Milan have offered a €20million loan fee for the 30-year-old and if they want to make it permanent, the Italian side will have to fork out another €35million.

Higuain's brother has spoken to Milan's sporting director Leonardo in recent hours and a deal is very close.

It was reported last week that AC Milan and Juventus had opened discussions regarding a swap deal with Serie A stars Leonardo Bonucci and Gonzalo Higuain, but whether Bonucci will end up leaving is yet to be decided.

The Italian champions are considering bringing back Bonucci to his former side Juventus, despite the defender being sold to Milan just last summer, amid rumours that he had fallen out with manager Massimiliano Allegri.

The veteran signed for Milan for a reported fee of €42 million fee on a five-year contract but reports via Goal claim he could well make a return after just a season away.

Do you think Chelsea have missed out here? Or is missing out on the Argentinian striker a blessing in disguise?
