Jose Mourinho's Post-Match Comments After Huddersfield Win Have Seriously P*ssed Off Fans

Oh dear...

Jose Mourinho has taken a dig at Manchester United fans who watched the game against Huddersfield on Saturday afternoon.

The 55-year-old suggested that Old Trafford is quiet and then quoted how loud Portsmouth fans were in a quite bizarre set of comments.

"Old Trafford is a quiet stadium. It is not Portsmouth." Mourinho told reporters.

"I remember Portsmouth when I came to the Premier League. It is such a small stadium, but it has an incredible atmosphere.

"Here the atmosphere is a bit quiet. It is not very, very enthusiastic, but the players like to play at home."

Apart from the result, it wasn't exactly a great day for Old Trafford.

For approximately 45 minutes during Saturday afternoon's Premier League game against Huddersfield, a banner displaying Sanchez and his two dogs, Atom and Humber, was proudly spread across the East Stand.

It was, however, removed from the stadium by orders of Old Trafford stewards. The quickest time a banner has been taken down at Old Trafford?

The fact that the only others banners on the stand are for the legendary Matt Busby, Sir Alex Ferguson, George Best and Ryan Giggs, according to Sam Wallace, is quite remarkable.

Sanchez did score his first goal for United this afternoon, slotting away a rebound from the penalty spot as Jose Mourinho's side secured all three points at Old Trafford.

One of the biggest surprises ahead of kick-off was the absence of Paul Pogba from the starting XI and Mourinho's comments once again caused a stir.

Scott McTominay came into the side to replace the £89 million midfielder and speaking ahead of the match, Mourinho revealed that McTominay was deserving of a start.

"I play Scott McTominay. He arrived here aged nine years old and spent many years in the academy, he has been waiting for an opportunity which I give him now and again, today is another one."
