Renato Sanches' Career Has Just Hit Rock Bottom

Renato Sanches might have his own emoji, but he's been hit with bad news.

The budding midfielder suffered relegation while on loan at Swansea City from Bayern Munich.

He played 12 Premier League games though failed to make an impression, with the Welsh outfit dropping out of the top flight to the Championship.

Needless to say, Sanches won't go down as a Swansea favourite.

His disastrous loan stint came to a crashing end after he was snubbed of a spot in Carlos Carvalhal's match day squad on the final day of the Premier League against Stoke City.

And following a miserable 2017/18 campaign, Sanches has been axed from Portugal's World Cup squad.

Premier League based midfielders Ruben Neves, Adrien Silva, Joao Mario, among others, make up the midfielders in Fernando Santos' team.

The 20-year-old won't be adding to his 13 international caps this summer.

It's a far cry from the last major international tournament.

Portugal won the 2016 European Championships with Sanches winning the Golden Boy award.

Since then, he's earned just two Portugal caps including a two minute cameo which was over 14 months ago.

Despite a terrible term in England, Sanches has been sensationally linked with a transfer to newly-promoted Wolves.

The club are coached by fellow Portuguese Nuno Espirito Santo, while also boasting midfield ace Neves, not to mention a relationship with super-agent Jorge Mendes who has engineered a few moves to Molineux.
