AS Roma and Jose Mourinho look to have a future star at their disposal after 18-year-old Felix Afena-Gyan scored a late double on Sunday evening to seal a 2-0 win for the away side against Genoa.

The Ghanaian came on as a late substitute in the game, with his outrageous second goal setting social media alight

With the visitors looking to close out the Serie A tie, Afena-Gyan collected the ball a few yards outside of the Genoa penalty area, and unleashed a rocket strike that sailed past a helpless Salvatore Sirigu in goal.

Afena-Gyan offers Mourinho an additional option in attack, who is already bolstered by former Chelsea man Tammy Abraham.

The player was quick to thank his Portuguese boss in the aftermath of the Genoa game, with the former Spurs and Man United gaffer showing great faith in making the match-winning substitution.

"I thank God for this opportunity he gave me, the team, the coach, the fans, players for their amazing support. I also want to say thank you Mom, she is in Ghana, I love you," Gyan told DAZN after the final whistle.

Felix ran straight to the touchline to hug Mourinho after his second goal, who plucked him from the Roma Primavera youth team following a handful of first-team injuries.

"Mourinho is a great person, a great manager and a great coach. He gives you the motivation to learn every day. I am very happy he is here," he added.

"Tonight is a dream come true. It was my first goal, I was hoping for a very long time.
