Mohamed Salah has sent a typically classy message to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain following the England midfielder suffering a knee injury in the Champions League.

Liverpool's 5-2 victory against AS Roma was slightly marred as a result of Oxlade-Chamberlain's injury in the 15th minute.

He attempted to tackle Aleksandar Kolarov but badly tweaked his knee in the process. Subsequently stretchered off, with the 24-year-old sadly ruled out for the rest of the season, and the World Cup.

Oxlade-Chamberlain posted a lengthy message on social media. Needless to say, he's devastated.

Liverpool issued the following response, while adding there's "no specific timescale" for his return.

"The extent of the injury means Oxlade-Chamberlain is set to miss the remainder of the campaign for Liverpool, as well as the World Cup in Russia with England.

"Oxlade-Chamberlain will now begin a rehabilitation programme to enable him to reach full fitness again as soon as possible, returning to action next season."

His club colleagues have also taken to social media, offering their support including a classy message from Salah.

'The Egyptian King' has posted a picture of the pair celebrating a goal, accompanied with the words: "I wish you all the best and I'm confident you'll be back even stronger than before."

'Ox' responded saying: "Thanks bro".

Class.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has played a starring role for Liverpool since signing from Arsenal in the summer.

He's been an ever present in the Premier League, making 32 appearances, while scoring three goals.

Not to mention his heroics in the Champions League. In seven games, he's weighed in with two goals. And who could forget his wonder goal against Manchester City in the quarter-final?!

Here's hoping to a speedy recovery, Alex!
